Call Center Supervisor
CHEMTREC, a division of the American Chemistry Council (ACC), currently has an opportunity for a Watch Supervisor. CHEMTREC is a 24/7, Level 1 emergency call center that provides information to emergency responders and others who need assistance during hazardous materials incidents (e.g. spills, fires, leaks, or personnel exposures), as well as provides a mechanism for shippers of hazardous materials to comply with certain domestic and international regulations which require an emergency telephone number to be displayed on shipping and other documentation, where immediate access to product information is necessary. CHEMTREC has aspects of both a public service and a commercial organization, and provides services globally from its facility in Falls Church, Virginia.
The position is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the assigned shift within the CHEMTREC Operations Center. The position works directly with their assigned watch team members and reports directly to the Director, Operations Center.
Required qualifications include Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in similar environment and at least three years’ experience in information management, chemistry, hazardous materials, hazardous materials transportation, or emergency response/emergency management discipline. The ability to work 12-hour night shifts including weekdays and weeknights as well as weekends and federal holidays and experience working in a global/international call center or telephone-based customer service environment are a must.
