Position Title: Enterprise Application Architect II or III

Position Purpose:

Enterprise Application Architect II: This position is responsible for the conceptualizing, designing, development, maintenance, enhancement, and support of specific enterprise applications enabling the Cooperative to meet business objectives. This position will work in a team to serve as the primary point of contact between Information Services & Telecommunications (IS&T), the Cooperative business units, and external solution providers. The incumbent ensures compliance of technology solutions with IS&T standards and participation in the full development life cycle. The enterprise applications utilize a variety of computing platforms and technologies. These may include Windows, Linux, zOS/CICS, and UNIX environments. These applications may include both client/server and web-based applications.

Enterprise Application Architect III: This position is responsible for the conceptualizing, designing, development, maintenance, enhancement, and support of specific enterprise applications enabling the Cooperative to meet business objectives. This position will lead project teams and serve as the primary point of contact between Information Services & Telecommunications (IS&T), the Cooperative business units, and external solution providers. The incumbent ensures compliance of technology solutions with IS&T standards and participation in the full development life cycle. The enterprise applications utilize a variety of computing platforms and technologies. These may include Windows, Linux, zOS/CICS, and UNIX environments. These applications may include both client/server and web-based applications. This position works under minimal direction and is responsible to recommend technical strategies. This position is identified as a Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP)-related position which may involve physical and/or logical access to Bulk Electric System (BES) cyber related assets or systems.

Qualifications:

Enterprise Application Architect II: To perform effectively in this position, the incumbent must have knowledge of application development and application lifecycles; implementation of applications; knowledge of C#, Visual Basic, .NET, or other procedural language; knowledge of Structured Query Language (SQL); and knowledge of relational database concepts. This is acquired through the completion of a four-year degree in Computer Science, Computer Programming, Engineering Accredited Commission/Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (EAC/ABET) accredited Computer Engineering, or related field and four years of related experience in the development of Visual Basic.NET, C#, .NET, ASP.NET with SQL Server or Oracle databases; or a two-year degree in Computer Science, Computer Programming, EAC/ ABET accredited Computer Engineering, or related field and six years of related experience in the development of Visual Basic.NET, C#, .NET, ASP.NET with SQL Server or Oracle databases; or a high school diploma or equivalent (GED or HSED) and eight years of related experience in the development of Visual Basic.NET, C#, .NET, ASP.NET with SQL Server or Oracle databases. The incumbent must have knowledge of one or more languages: C#, VB.Net, COBOL, JavaScript or other development language. The incumbent must have knowledge of Structured Query Language (SQL), and relational database concepts. The ability to manage time, provide estimation of time required to accomplish work, and adapt by developing technical and professional skills are required. The incumbent must be able to demonstrate effective written and verbal communication skills. This position must be proficient with Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel; travels up to 10% of the time; and is required to be on-call, as needed.
