Supportive Housing Specialist

A Day in the Life
- You will assist eligible clients with obtaining and maintaining adequate housing by providing supportive services.
- You will identify client needs and services to meet those needs.
You will:
- Manage services related to accessing and obtaining housing.
- Orient clients to housing programs and referral options, support services, and housing options.
- Serve as a liaison between landlord, tenant, service providers and the community related to housing needs.
- Complete and submit required reports.
- Assist with grant writing and grant proposal submission.
- Provide individualized supportive housing services for clients.
- Communicate courteously and professionally and maintain working relationships with others in carrying out job functions.
- Attend and represent the program and agency in a responsible, professional manner at all meetings.
Qualifications
- You’ll need an Associate’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, or closely related Human Service field.
- A Bachelor’s degree and prior experience in a human service organization is preferred.
- A valid driver’s license or other evidence of mobility is required.
- You must have a strong commitment to BI-CAP’s values of collaboration, innovation, compassion, diversity, equity and inclusion.
- Applicants must pass a DHS Background Study.
- Familiarity with housing activities, computer knowledge, record keeping and/or client intake is preferred.
Wages
- You’ll be eligible for a competitive benefits package and the opportunity to make a difference in the community.
- Full-time, 40 hours/week, $17.84/hr, with benefits.
