Hardware Design Engineer
Card Access, Inc. is accepting resumes for the position of a Hardware Design Engineer, in Draper/Salt Lake City, Utah.
Conceive, research, design, develop, and test electronic hardware components and products for commercial, industrial, and/or scientific use to support client requirements. Design electronic circuits and components using knowledge of electronic theory, concepts, and applications with an emphasis in radio frequency (RF) and power management, and materials properties, and create schematic designs that meet product requirements. Assist in preparing, reviewing, and verifying product layout and build packages. Test/verify/validate prototype products built from completed designs and builds. Strong understanding of RF circuit theory and implementation including antennas, impedance matching, and electromagnetic's theory. Strong understanding of analog and digital circuit theory and design at the component level including transistors and micro-controllers. Knowledge of power electronics principles and circuits such as DC-DC converters and efficiency optimization. Knowledge of CAD tools such as Altium and/or LTSpice. Knowledge of serial communication protocols such as UART, I2C, etc. Knowledge of programming languages such as C/C++ or Python. Familiarity with the Linux subsystem and computer networks theory.
Bachelor's degree in Electrical engineering and two years of relevant experience, or in lieu of experience, a master's degree in Electrical engineering with related coursework is required.
