Rate of Pay/Range of Pay: $48,000.00 - 60,000.00 per year
" Writes reviews and collaborates on grant proposals as assigned, including the Minnesota Department of Education's Success for the Future Program and other state, federal, and private grant opportunities considered appropriate by the School Improvement Team.
" Submits the annual Title VII Indian Education Grant application utilizing the Formula Grant Electronic Application System for Indian Education.
" Provides grant management (maintains program records/submits program reports) for Success for the Future, Title 1, Title IV, and Title VII and other grant-funded programs.
" Submits the Annual Report (consisting of the student count, attendance, behavior, achievement, staff development and programming) to the Bureau of Indian Education Midwest Region Office electronically in collaboration with the Guidance Counselor and Records Clerk.
" Submits reports annually to the North Central Association (NCA) Commission on Accreditation and School Improvement. Ensures that the Ojibwe School retains its accreditation with NCA through specified school improvement activities in collaboration with the School Improvement Team.
" Writes and submits the Fond du Lac Ojibwe School's Technology Plan to the Bureau of Indian Education in collaboration with the School Improvement Team. Revises the Technology Plan as necessary.
" Submits the Fond du Lac Ojibwe School's annual e-Rate application to the Universal Service Administrative Company that helps fund the school's technology access and services. Manages all records relating to the e-Rate program with the assistance of the Accounting Division.
" Serves as the liaison between the Education Division and the MIS Division for technology services and equipment for the Ojibwe School.
" Administers the Fond du Lac Ojibwe School's Operation and Maintenance Program. Sets priorities and scheduling for facility maintenance in collaboration with the Building Engineer and Custodial Supervisor. Consults with the Bureau of Indian Affairs Midwest Regional Facilities Manager regarding issues relating to safety, funding and other related facility issues.
" Administers the Fond du Lac Ojibwe School's Safety Program. Ensures the safety drills, inspections, training and reports are completed each school year. Collaborates with the School Improvement Team to provide for the health and safety of students, staff and community members.
" Complies and submits the Annual Safety Self-Evaluation to the Bureau of Indian Affairs Midwest Regional Facilities Manager.
" Ensures the recommended corrective actions from safety and environmental health inspections as completed in a timely manner.
" Maintains and ensures the accuracy of the Fond du Lac Ojibwe School's Bureau of Indian Affairs Facility Management Inventory System (FMIS) that determines Operations and Maintenance (O&M) funding. Enters annual actual utility and service costs into FMIS. Submits backlog items into FMIS for Minor Improvement and Repair (MI&R) projects for supplemental O&M funding. Performs related duties (reports to the BIA, etc.) relating to FMIS.
" Coordinates major and minor facility repair in collaboration with the Midwest Regional Facilities Manager, with the Fond du Lac Planning Division, the Fond du Lac Construction Division, and private contractors.
" Complies and submits reports relating to the Ojibwe School programs to the Bureau of Indian Affairs and Bureau of Indian Education.
" Provides technical assistance/develops projects in conjunction with the Fond du Lac/Cloquet Public Schools Cooperative Agreement.
" Displays a responsive and professional manner in solving all requests, complaints, and problems.
" Maintains a clean and organized work area.
" Represents the Fond du Lac Band of Lake Superior Chippewa and the department in a positive and professional manner in the community.
" Recognizes that employees have certain personal responsibilities which affects the operational efficiency of the Fond du Lac Band of Lake Superior Chippewa.
" Required to maintain proper attendance and reports to work on time in accordance with Reservation Business Committee policy.
" Recognizes that each employee is a representative of the Fond du Lac Band of Lake Superior Chippewa and is responsible for demonstrating courtesy, respect, and sensitivity to the needs of every person including visitors and co-workers.
" Due to changes and modifications in the job from time to time, employees are required to be flexible and assume other responsibilities assigned by management as management sees the necessity. Some assignments may not be listed on this description.
" B.A. Degree is required.
" Knowledge of American Indian history and law is required.
" Working knowledge of the Bureau of Indian Affairs and the State of Minnesota Education and Facilities policies is required.
" Excellent computer/technology skills including Word, Excel, Photoshop and Adobe Acrobat to manage information relating to the position description.
" Excellent organizational skills are required.
" Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing is required.
" Ability to work independently and establish priorities is required.
" Attention to detail and accuracy is required.
" Ability to establish professional and harmonious working relationships on all projects and with all parties involved.
