Development Coordinator

Keystone Symposia on Molecular and Cellular Biology is currently seeking a Development Coordinator to work with our Director of Individual Giving to assist with developing strategies for approaching individual donors to achieve revenue targets. This position will work closely with our Communications Department and will also collaborate with Corporate development on projects as needed. Minimum of 3 years progressive fundraising experience or degree in Fundraising Management, communication or related discipline is preferred. Must have excellent computer skills and proficiency working with a database to track and analyze date.

Specific duties and responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following and may be subject to change:

  • Works with Director of individual giving to develop strategies for approaching individual donors to achieve revenue targets. Activities include those associated with the Annual Fund Program, including direct mail campaigns, giving circles and monthly donors, and integration between online and offline fundraising channels.
  • Works with the Communications to develop consistent and appropriate messaging for donor appeals and stewardship pieces, including the Direct Mail ask, Thank you, scripts, and response mechanism.
  • Database management-- establish the criteria (i.e. donor segments) for each appeal, ensuring KS is reaching each donor segment with an appropriate request for support.

-Collaborates with Corporate development on projects as needed.

-Develops and works with the Director of Individual Giving to conduct annual updates to donor stewardship reports for individual donors

  • Conducts prospect research for the purpose of cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of donors.
  • Ensures all individual donor recognition commitments are fulfilled.
  • Ensures timely fulfillment of all tasks including submission deadlines and reporting requirements.
  • In addition to compliance with all organizational policies and procedures, the incumbent is also expected to behave ethically, demonstrate competence in effective communication and team building.
