Engineer

Summit County is recruiting an experienced Engineer to join our team of professionals dedicated to improving our community. This position requires the performance of a variety of engineering duties related to planning, organizing, and coordinating the design, construction, and inspection of public works and community development projects. Knowledge is needed of civil engineering procedures, standards, and codes; technical and practical design of public works systems; engineering equipment and drafting tools; complex mathematical functions; computer applications; legal and governmental processes affecting various engineering programs and project management.

Essential skills include the ability to; communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing; read and interpret engineering plans and specifications; Develop and maintain effective working relationships with elected officials, federal and state agencies, local government, and the public. May hire at the following levels depending on submitted qualifications and experience.

Engineer I

Minimum Qualifications

A bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, one year of responsible experience performing the above and related duties, a valid driver's license, must pass the EIT examination within six months of hire.

Salary Range: $26.56 - $37.20/hour.

Engineer II

Minimum Qualifications

A bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, five years of responsible experience performing the above and related duties, a valid driver's license, must be currently registered as a Professional Engineer in the State of Utah or another state and become registered in the State of Utah within six months.

Salary Range: $66,006.79 - $93,556.48 annually
