Multicultural Communications and Outreach Specialist
Summit County Communications and Public Engagement Department is recruiting for a Multicultural Communications and Outreach Specialist. Responsibilities include the dissemination of accurate and timely information about County services, operations, special projects and events, and other activities to underrepresented groups with a focus on community awareness, education, and safety. Will work as a liaison with underserved community groups, human service agencies, and county departments and offices. Will also fulfill the Public Information Officer (PIO) function for several county departments as assigned.
Minimum & Special Qualifications
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Journalism, Communications, Multicultural Affairs, Ethnic Studies, or related field and at lease two years’ experience in public relations, marketing, advertising, graphic design, public engagement and outreach, or working with the underrepresented communities, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Preference given to candidates proficient in Spanish-language verbal and written communications, experience with Facebook Ads Manager, podcast production, WordPress, HTML, CSS and coding, and have some familiarity with or knowledge of Summit County communities. Salary Range: $20.26 - $28.37/hr.
