As a member of the circulation management team, lead a portion of home delivery operations to achieve customer satisfaction and established service goals as outlined, through the effective management of contracted carriers. To oversee and provide on-time delivery of the newspaper and all related products to subscribers, retail outlets, and non-subscribers daily, resulting in subscriber retention and circulation growth. To effectively prospect, recruit, training and mentor independent contractors for delivery services, familiarize contractors with route locations and enforce contractual agreements.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
Primary job responsibility:
To achieve customer satisfaction through ensuring service and performance provided contracted carriers meets all contractual agreements. Perform all circulation duties as outlined by Distribution Manager including directly supervising all daily circulation responsibilities. Cover the entire operation if needed and all related duties in the absence of the Distribution Manager Ensure on-time delivery of the newspaper and related products to subscribers and non-subscribers daily. Direct and supervise daily visual verification of new starts, previous day complaints, and any service related issues. Prospect, recruit, train and mentor independent contractors for delivery route coverage and ensure understanding of route layout Monitor and enforce contractual agreements. Direct home delivery service to ensure that 100% of all deliveries within the division are accomplished daily. Contact subscribers, resolve delivery issues, and follow up to ensure customer satisfaction is achieved. Routinely update division records for accuracy. (Route Lists, Contracts, complaint history, etc.) Demonstrate an elevated sense of urgency, to consistently meet delivery deadlines. Present a daily personal appearance representative of The Gazette Execute weekly work schedule for all Field Representatives staffing. Provide feedback to Distribution Manager on performance of Field Representatives and initiate disciplinary action as necessary. Perform route assessments to evaluate contractor compensation levels and expense saving opportunities. Communicate clear expectations to staff members and contracted carriers. Communicate with Distribution Manager daily, weekly, and monthly with recommendations for improvements to the area. Flexible hours to cover special projects, weather issues, personnel shortages, and press runs. Must be willing to adapt to changing schedules and responsibilities, react to change productively, and manage multiple duties at one time. Step in and deliver route using own vehicle when necessary Lift up to 50 lb. bundles repeatedly.

Minimum Education & Work Experience Requirements Education: Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent Experience: 3 Years Circulation experience preferred and 1 year management experience Certifications/Licenses: Must have valid driver's license and proof of insurance.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Required At least 1 year management experience, including the ability to motivate, instruct, direct and supervise others in performing their essential job functions. Circulation operations experience and understanding preferred. Leadership skills Computer skills - Microsoft Excel and Word, email Organization skills. Analytical and problem solving skills. Electronic Communications skills-frequent use Text Messaging, Phone, E-mail Navigational Skills, able to read maps, GPS, and locate geographic locations efficiently. Communication skills, both written and oral. Lift up to 50 lb. bundles repeatedly. Scheduling flexibility is required to accommodate changing business needs.
