TITLE: Program Clerk
Receives and processes incoming and outgoing mail. Answers inquiries concerning routine Department matters and questions from visitors. Assists members of the public with routine forms. Assist in composing correspondence and other materials without instruction. Maintains files. Assists in seasonal as well as ongoing projects in the Department. Screens incoming correspondence or calls; responds to inquiries and requests from the public as directed.
Maintain computer files and perform related filing duties. Gathers materials, data and other information for review by supervisor. Processes all requests for use of rooms. Maintains an inventory of office and program equipment and supplies. Processes forms and documents within generally established procedures. Checks for adherence to requirements and accepted administrative practice. Prepares materials for meeting, events or program materials. Compiles activity reports. Maintains event calendars and schedules routine and special meetings. Assists in the creation of multimedia presentations for public meetings or events. Performs related work as required.
The skills and knowledge required would generally be acquired with a high school education with advanced course work in business, English and arithmetic, computers and three years of experience in clerical and Microsoft Office computer work. College degree preferred.
